From the moment I first laid eyes on Zkittlez, I knew I was in for a treat. Also known as Skittles or Skittlz, this popular strain boasts THC levels between 16-21%, making it a versatile choice for both new and seasoned users. Bred by a leading West Coast farm, Zkittlez has racked up awards like there’s no tomorrow, and not just for its flowers. Its rich terpene profile makes it an excellent choice for extracts as well. Caryophyllene, myrcene, humulene, and pinene combine to create a symphony of flavors and effects that are truly unforgettable.

First Impressions:
I vividly remember my experience with Zkittlez extract by VIOR—it was delightful! The lineage of this strain is a fascinating blend of Grape Ape, Grapefruit, and a third, mystery strain. Grape Ape, known for its relaxing, grape-flavored indica effects, and Grapefruit, an upbeat sativa with a strong citrus aroma and flavor, come together in Zkittlez to evoke the sensation of a bag of candies.
Growing and harvesting Zkittlez was a gratifying experience. The plant is easy to manage, requiring minimal maintenance and expertise. With a relatively short flowering time of 7-10 weeks, I was able to yield around 6 ounces per plant in a 5×5 tent using a 5-gallon bag. The beautiful, dense buds were a sight to behold and even more delightful to consume.
The effects of Zkittlez are what truly set it apart. The journey begins with an uplifting head buzz that leaves you euphoric and creatively inspired, yet without the anxiety or overwhelm that can accompany some strains. This cerebral high is complemented by a relaxing body buzz that slowly spreads to your fingertips, leaving you calm and pain-free while maintaining full mobility. As the high begins to wane, a mild sleepy effect washes over you, although it won’t knock you out completely. These effects make Zkittlez a perfect choice for managing insomnia, chronic pain, mild depression, chronic stress or anxiety, and inflammation.
If you’re looking to try Zkittlez, you can find it at local dispensaries or explore online options. Remember, the effects I’ve described are based on my personal experience and are not intended as medical advice. Cannabis affects everyone differently, influenced by your own biology—your endocannabinoid system, metabolism, age, weight—and the specific product you choose, including its cannabinoid profile, terpene breakdown, and delivery method.
There are thousands of cannabis chemovars out there, and no real standards for identifying them. Choosing a strain for therapeutic reasons should be based on its profile rather than its name. If you’d like to learn more about using cannabis therapeutically, join me at the INFO IS POWER series. Visit the website to learn more.
Thanks for joining me on this journey, and I can’t wait to hear about your experiences with cool new strains. Until next time, stay lifted and keep exploring the wonderful world of cannabis!
