There is not a lot to know about the actual cause of fibromyalgia other than subtle changes in neurotransmitters within the brain that can affect the central nervous system, which in turn creates the sensation of pain associated with the condition.
The neurotransmitters become hypersensitive to pain signals, if you are a fibro-fighting warrior, you’re well aware of just how HYPERSENSITIVE and OVER-REACTIVE our bodies and brains can be.
It may often feel like your senses are in overdrive compared to others: light, sound, smells, tastes, and of course, touch may all simply be “too much” sometimes – especially during a flare-up. All of the sensitivity and
chronic pain is likely to encourage “NEGATIVE THINKING”
” I mean really, who has happy, positive thoughts when they are in pain, agitated, or suffering hypersensitivity?”
IT IS IMPORTANT TO LEARN that those negative thoughts are actually instructing your brain to continue over-reacting to external stimuli which creates a toxic vicious cycle.
